Fairview is situated in a most convenient location, a five minute drive from the A10 at Puckeridge and within easy reach of Hertford and Ware. St Edmunds College is about a mile and a half to the north. We believe the property dates back to the 1930s and is probably built in brick with a rendered finish. The current owners happily occupied the house for over fifty years and extended the house on two occasions, perhaps in blockwork with a rendered finish under a tiled roof. The rooms are well-proportioned with tall ceilings, there has been some modernisation including double glazed windows and doors and a fairly new shower room. However, the house does now require some repair and modernisation, as do the outbuildings.
The entrance hall leads left and right to a sitting room and drawing room which has a door to an annexe which could easily be incorporated into the house and comprises a double bedroom, shower room, sitting room leading to a greenhouse and a utility room with storage cupboards. There is also a kitchen/breakfast room.
On the first floor there are two generous double bedrooms and two large single bedrooms and a modern shower room.
Outside, a driveway leads to a generous parking and turning area and to a garage with an internal stairway to a first floor. It is probable that this building would need to be replaced. The grounds are well established with lawns, fruit trees and a hedge of hornbeam or beach. At the end of the garden there are further fruit trees, a timber framed stable block with two stables and a tack room and a dilapidated static home.
