Leading local estate agent Mullucks Wells has now raised over £15,000 in the past seven years, from its annual fundraising charity lunch held in Bishop’s Stortford.
The event began in 2011 during the company’s 21st anniversary celebrations and has since continued every year, with beneficiaries including Mind, Support 4 Sight, Tom’s Trust, Helen Rollason Cancer Charity, Essex Air Ambulance, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and Papworth Hospital.
The charity chosen for last Friday’s lunch (10th November 2017) was the Bishop’s Stortford Night Shelter – which provides emergency shelter and supportive services to people who are homeless or at risk, and campaigns for collaborative, locally driven solutions to end homelessness. Funds are still coming in, but an estimate for the amount of money raised this year is currently £1,200.
Mullucks Wells Director Daniel Galati, who hosts the event, said: “For the past three years we’ve been holding the charity lunch at Water Lane Bar & Restaurant here in Bishop’s Stortford. They provide a set price meal for £15 each, and we sell tickets for £35 a head. The difference goes to our selected charity, with some of the wine being provided by Excelsior Kitchens in Takeley, and people also donating an amount of their choice for the drink they consume.
“We are delighted to raise funds for such deserving causes in the area. We would also like to thank the local solicitors, developers and planning consultants who support us each and every year. We’re already making preparations for our charity lunch in 2018!”
