Last weekend over 500 children were involved in some spectacular music making. On Friday, Saffron Walden County High School was host to a Primary Festival where 9 local schools got the opportunity to perform on the fabulous Saffron Hall stage.
Over two days, over 100 young people performed in a variety of styles and genres.
It is an event that Mullucks Wells have been delighted to support for the third consecutive year. Each performer received positive and instructive comments from 5 adjudicators who had travelled up from London. John York was the senior adjudicator.
There were 5 Sections: Woodwind, Strings, Brass, Piano and Voice. The winners were:
Woodwind - George Withers
Strings - Frances Patterson
Brass - Eddie Curtis
Piano - Tom Horton
Voice - Phoebe Tealby-Watson
These 5 winners competed to win the Mullucks Wells Festival Cup at a concert late on Sunday afternoon. The overall winner was Eddie Curtis who played on the Bass Trombone.
Our Sales Director, David Emberson, presented the Cup in front of a very appreciative audience.
