The country truly was in town on 27th and 28th September. We at Mullucks Wells have just returned from the Country Life Fair which was held over the weekend at Fulham Palace in London. The event was organised by Country Life magazine and the patron was HRH Prince Michael of Kent.
The show was set in the glorious gardens of the palace, in the heart of prime West London - Putney, Fulham and Chelsea - and it was the perfect opportunity for us to speak to buyers moving out of the capital to the country, and tell them about our area and the properties we are currently selling.
Our Residential Director William Wells said, "The Country Life Fair was a terrific success and thousands of people attended each day, taking advantage of the beautiful weather. There were hundreds of exhibitors offering a range of rural products and services to suit every country pursuit and interest. Of course a Country Life Fair had to include property and we were on hand to promote this lovely part of the country and all our properties.
"We were able to speak to lots of potential buyers and London-based clients who attended the show. It was also a lot of fun spotting celebrities in the crowd."
This is the first time Country Life have run a fair and it won't be the last, judging by the numbers of people who packed the exhibition tents, enjoyed a family picnic on the lawn, watched the displays in the show ring including falconry and ferret racing, saw the fashion shows, and tasted the dishes demonstrated in the food hall by Tom Parker-Bowles and others.
William added, "This was a wonderful event and we would hope to do it again next year. There were a limited number of estate agency stands available so we were delighted to have been invited by the organisers to be part of this important marketing opportunity. We hope to make it a regular part of our clients' marketing strategy each year."
