Leading estate agent Mullucks Wells is marking its 21st Anniversary with a year-long celebration aimed at helping local charities.
To launch the anniversary year, the company has announced that it will give £100 to charity for each property it sells from now until April 2012.
Mullucks Wells, with offices in Bishop’s Stortford, Saffron Walden and Great Dunmow, was founded in 1990. To celebrate this landmark anniversary, the company will be supporting local charities by holding a series of fundraising events and sponsored activities. Staff will also be offering “hands on” practical support to specific charity projects.
The Bishop’s Stortford office has chosen the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity as its charity for the year. The Charity was founded in 1999 in memory of sports journalist and TV presenter Helen Rollason, and operates cancer support centres, clinical drug trials and a research laboratory. The charity is planning a number of new projects and the Mullucks Wells office wants to provide its support.
Alongside their Bishop’s Stortford colleagues, the Mullucks Wells team in Great Dunmow has chosen West Essex Mind as their nominated charity and the Saffron Walden office will be supporting the development of a respite centre in Thaxted for adults with disabilities, run by ResCU, and which will provide respite for families from the surrounding area.
As well as donating £100 per sale, the company has also pledged £12,000 from its Lettings Department and £5,000 from its commercial operation in the year ahead. A wide range of fund raising activities are also being planned to help raise awareness of these three very worthwhile charities.
The company will also be helping their charities with hands-on support. Director, William Wells, said: “Not only will we be raising and giving vital funds to these worthwhile causes, but we also want to get our hands dirty! So we’ll be calling on all our staff and other contacts to give up their free time and expertise to help with painting walls, building furniture, clearing spaces to help make these charities’ plans a reality.
“It’s been a huge privilege to work in this community for 21 years and now it’s our chance to give something back.”
