Antiques & Fine Art Auction, Monday 26th March
Troika pottery, made in Cornwall until the 1980s and sold only from the pottery and Heals, is much sought after according to Lloyd Rust, Saleroom Manager, Mullucks Wells. A collection of Troika pottery is to be sold, item by item with estimates ranging from £40 to £800, in the next Mullucks Wells selected Fine Art and Antiques Sale in the Dunmow Salerooms on Monday 26th March. Among the more eclectic items are an Indian Tiger head by Van Ingen of Mysore, shot by Mr Watts Morgan and presently in an estate in east Hertfordshire - estimate £400 - £600; and an unusual Maori War club (estimate £100 - £200) - no one knows how it got here!
Also for sale are around 500 items of good quality furniture, ceramics, jewellery, pictures and prints.
“We’ve gone for quality items in this sale”, said Lloyd. “An especially exciting item is the tiny but incredibly rare Faberge gum pot, Imperial Russian circa 1900 by important senior workmaster Henrik Wigstrom in 14 ct gold, silver and guilloche enamel.” (estimate for this piece is £400 - £600)
Viewing is Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th March between 10am and 4pm; catalogues from 01371 873014
