Christmas Poem Competition for Local School Children
Children from local primary schools in are being invited to take part in Mullucks Wells’ Christmas Poem Competition.
Youngsters are asked to describe their favourite aspects of the festive season in a poem of no more than eight lines. Children are also encouraged to decorate their poem with drawings and illustrations.
Residential Director William Wells said: “Christmas is a magical time of year for children, so we want to discover exactly what this special occasion is like from their perspective.”
Entries are divided into two categories – Year 4 and under (7-9 year olds) and Years 5 and 6 (9-11 year olds) and need to be handed into one of our Mullucks Wells’ offices before 28th December 2006.
The first prize in both categories is an art box, and the second prize is a £10 book token. In addition, the overall winner will receive £100 for their school.
William Wells added: “This is a chance for children to have a bit of fun in the run up to Christmas, as well as win some fabulous prizes for themselves and their school.”
