Former Chapel Sold at Auction

A former Chapel in Stebbing with planning permission for conversion into six units plus a terrace of three cottages in the grounds sold for £810,000 after some lively bidding at the Saracens Head in Great Dunmow on Thursday 30th November 2006.

The Chapel is situated in a Conservation Area close to the centre of this popular village which lies close to the market town of Great Dunmow. Adjacent to the property on the north east side, there is planning consent for a terraced row of three 3 bedroom cottages of 83 sq.m (900 sq.ft) each.

A thatched cottage in Lindsell with planning consent for a replacement dwelling was also the subject of much interest and bidding finally closed at £222,000.
