Huge Crowds Attend Saffron Walden’s First Property Auction in 4 Years!
Over 150 people packed into the Court Room at Saffron Walden's Town Hall last Tuesday afternoon (12th February), at the first property auction to be held in the town for nearly four years.
Estate agents Mullucks Wells auctioned three lots, including an early 1900s house on Radwinter Road and a Grade II listed period cottage in Hadstock - both in need of renovation - as well as almost 20 acres of grazing land near Clavering. The bidding was led by auctioneer Tim Trembath.
Residential Sales Manager Graham Newman said: "We were thrilled with the number of people who turned up on the day. The room was almost bursting at the seams! And yet again Mullucks Wells continued its proud history of selling 100% of the lots on offer."
The three bedroom house on Radwinter Road in a plot of just under quarter of an acre went under the hammer for £340,000, the partly-thatched Grade II listed cottage in a third of an acre in Hadstock went for £250,000, and the 19.5 acre plot of grazing land near Clavering realised a figure of £110,000.
Graham Newman added: "An auction like this can take the uncertainty out of the selling process. Mullucks Wells has two more scheduled for this year - on May 13th and September 30th."
