Estate agents brave the cold weather to support cancer charity

Workers from local estate agent, Mullucks Wells, stepped in to
help a cancer charity collection in Bishop’s Stortford last
week.
The charity had been planning to hold bucket collections during
the morning and evening rush hours at Bishop’s Stortford
train station and all day at the Jackson Square shopping centre but
needed more volunteers.
The volunteers were led by the Managing Director of Mullucks
Wells, Richard Roberts. He said: “We were delighted to see so
many people stopping to give so generously, especially considering
how cold it was. Helen Rollason Cancer Charity is one of the three
local charities that we chose to be the beneficiaries of our
year-long fundraising to celebrate our 21st birthday so when we
heard that they needed volunteers, we were only too pleased to
help.”
Helen Rollason Cancer Charity supports people living with
cancer. Mullucks Wells is aiming to raise enough money over the
year to support the Sawbridgeworth Cancer Support Centre for six
months. This award-winning centre is where cancer patients and
their families and friends can go for counselling and support. The
patients can also have therapies to complement their medical
treatment - including massage and reflexology – which the
charity provides free of charge.
The charity’s Fundraising Manager for Hertfordshire,
Michael Baim, commented: “Our Hertfordshire volunteers are
very dedicated but it’s not always easy for people to help
during the working week. We are very grateful to Mullucks Wells and
with their support, we were able to raise over
£600.”
